THIS IS A COPY OF AN E-MAIL THAT I JUST SENT to Riesterer & Schnell; our closest John Deere dealer is in Pound, WI, nearly 100 miles away.
ATTENTION: Jim Hauser in the parts dept
PARTS WE STILL NEED FOR OVERHAUL:
on order is the gasket F 1922 R. The ring set for the pistons we will keep; Baril is duplicating the two wrong ones for us.
FOR THE VERY BEST IN ENGINE WORK IN WISCONSIN & UPPER MICHIGAN, I REALLY RECOMMEND:

I had ordered the “complete gasket overhaul kit” … should any of these gaskets below have been included in that? It was a $90 item, with the parts number (they say) of R 252472 for the kit. I really wish the guys that are working on my tractor would have at least opened the boxes way back when these parts were shipped to see what we had & what we still needed at that time. I’m not sure if they still have the packing slips, either. In the kit was an “EXTRA” AF 2659 R oil seal that they say we don’t need.
Is it possible that they need both of those last items … GASKET, 1st reduction gear cover ? … ALSO: they gave me two different numbers for the SNAP RING R 80 R … they just need one.
My parts book is over at their place now, & I don’t have it here to check these with. I only spoke over the phone with them.
Could you double check that these are what are needed for my John Deere Diesel, 1959, serial #7318580 ??

The guys who are working on my tractor are local loggers. Here's their shop, all cozy inside with a good wood fire going. You can see various parts of my John Deere laying around outside.
The tractor is pretty well stripped down now ...
We had to get the crankshaft ground out.
